Microsoft Ready to Withdraw from Negotiations with OpenAI
The Financial Times of the UK reported, citing unnamed informed sources, that Microsoft is ready to withdraw from negotiations with OpenAI. If the two sides still cannot reach an agreement on key issues, such as the scale of Microsoft's future stake in OpenAI, Microsoft has considered suspending the complex consultations with OpenAI.
Microsoft is acting in "good faith", and the two sides meet daily in an attempt to come up with a plan and hope to reach an agreement.
"We have built a long-term and productive partnership that has brought excellent AI tools to everyone," Microsoft and OpenAI said in a joint statement to the Financial Times. "Negotiations are ongoing, and we are optimistic that we will continue to grow together in the coming years."
