Adobe Launches Standalone App for Generating AI Videos and Images

Adobe on Tuesday released the standalone Firefly mobile app for Android and iOS, aiming to further highlight its AI-based image generation and editing tools. The new app offers features such as Generative Fill, Generative Expand, Text to Image, Text to Video, and Image to Video. The Generative Fill tool can easily remove distracting elements from photos or add content that wasn't originally there in the image. Generative Expand uses AI to stretch photos to better fit various aspect ratios, which is useful for social media posts. The text-based creation process is similar to similar products offered by competitors. The generated videos are five seconds long. By default, Adobe's model is used, but creators can choose to use models from OpenAI or Google for text-to-image, text-to-video, and image-to-video projects.
