Meta Starts Testing AI-Generated Video Ads Feature
Meta is delving deeper into AI-generated advertising technology to reduce the cost and complexity for advertisers to produce ad content. On Tuesday local time, Meta announced an upgrade to its image-to-video ad tool, allowing marketers to use artificial intelligence to transform product images into multi-scene video ads. Advertisers can upload up to 20 images to create videos and add background music and text. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has named AI as the company's top priority this year, competing with rivals such as OpenAI, Google, and Microsoft to develop leading AI models and consumer features. Meta has made AI a key focus of its advertising business, which accounts for approximately 98% of its annual revenue. Most of Meta's advertisers are small businesses, so helping them reduce the cost of producing ad materials enables them to allocate more budgets to advertising on Facebook or Instagram.
