French AI Company Mistral Launches Its First Inference Model
French artificial intelligence company Mistral will launch its first inference model on Tuesday to compete with products from rivals such as OpenAI and China's DeepSeek. "We will announce our new inference model within a few hours. This model is highly competitive compared to all other models and has the uniqueness of being able to reason in multiple languages," CEO Arthur Mensch said in a fireside chat at London Tech Week. Mensch said that Mistral's new model is good at mathematics and also at programming. The CEO of Mistral said that the unique selling point of its upcoming Magistral inference model lies in its ability to reason in European languages. He said, "We see American models reasoning in English and Chinese models reasoning in Chinese."
