Meta Establishes New AI Lab to Pursue "Superintelligence"

Meta is preparing to establish a new AI research lab dedicated to pursuing "superintelligence" - an AI system that theoretically surpasses the capabilities of the human brain. This move is an important part of the company's AI strategic restructuring. It has invited Alexandr Wang, the founder of Scale AI (a Chinese-American), to join and plans to invest billions of dollars in Scale AI. According to people familiar with the matter, Meta has offered seven - to nine - figure compensation packages to dozens of researchers from leading AI companies such as OpenAI and Google, and some of them have agreed to join.

Mark Zuckerberg has invested billions of dollars in an attempt to make Meta a strong AI company and widely integrate AI into its products.
