UK Partners with Nvidia to Let Banks Experiment with AI
The UK's Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) announced a new partnership with US chipmaker Nvidia on Monday to enable banks to safely experiment with artificial intelligence. The regulator said it would launch a new project called the "Super Sandbox" to accelerate the innovation process by providing companies with better data resources, technical expert support, and regulatory guidance. According to a press release from the regulator, UK financial institutions will be allowed to use Nvidia's accelerated computing and enterprise-level AI software products to conduct AI trials starting from October this year. The FCA specifically noted that the program is designed for institutions in the "AI exploration and experimentation phase," and for companies that have entered a more advanced research and development stage, there is a live testing service available.
