Perplexity received 780 million search queries last month
Perplexity CEO Aravind Srinivas said at the Bloomberg Technology Summit on Thursday that Perplexity received 780 million queries in May. Srinivas said the AI search engine has a monthly growth rate of over 20%. Srinivas said, "In another year, if we can maintain this growth rate, we'll be processing around a billion queries a week. That's quite impressive because on the first day of 2022, we only processed 3,000 queries a day. So going from that to 30 million queries a day now is an amazing growth." Srinivas continued to point out that the same growth trajectory is possible, especially with the new Comet browser the company is developing. The reason the company is developing Comet is to transform the role of AI from merely providing answers to actually performing operations on behalf of users.
