AI Enters the Kitchen: Chicago Michelin-starred Restaurant Creates a Nine-course Menu with ChatGPT as the Virtual Chef
Next, a well-known restaurant in Chicago, will launch a unique nine-course menu, with each dish designed by a "fictitious chef", and the creativity behind these chefs all comes from ChatGPT. Chef and restaurant partner Grant Achatz constructed a virtual chef named "Jill" with the backgrounds of Escoffier, Adrià, and Jiro Ono through conversations, and used AI to generate recipes and optimize them step by step.
Although AI cannot cook yet, its role in inspiring creativity is attracting more and more chefs to give it a try. From the improved barbajuan that combines local flavors to envisioning tableware and restaurant spaces with the AI image generator Midjourney, many top chefs are regarding it as a new generation of "creative partner". Although doubts still exist, this trend is quietly changing the definition of inspiration and collaboration in the food and beverage industry.
