These executive orders do not include a complete ban on the use of Chinese drones in the United States. However, they do contain provisions requiring US intelligence agencies to expedite the review of whether Chinese drone manufacturers such as DJI and Autel pose a national security risk. In June last year, the House of Representatives introduced its version of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2025 (NDAA FY25). The bill reintroduced the "Anti-CCP Drone Act" - which previously aimed to comprehensively ban the sale of drones made in China. But a month later, the Senate Armed Services Committee released the corresponding bill for NDAA FY25, removing the controversial drone provisions.
