AI Summaries in Gmail Now Appear Automatically

Google Workspace users will see more of Gemini's efforts in summarizing emails. Gmail now automatically creates summaries for complex threads, which will appear above the email itself.

Previously, Google Workspace users had to manually trigger the AI summaries.

The automatic summaries will now be displayed above English-language emails (body), but only on mobile devices. And it may take up to two weeks to show up in your account.

Google has not announced whether or when this feature will be extended to desktop Gmail and Gmail users who do not subscribe to Workspace.
