Musk Once Strongly Opposed the OpenAI Abu Dhabi AI Center Deal
OpenAI and other major U.S. tech companies will cooperate with the UAE's G42 to build a large-scale artificial intelligence data center in Abu Dhabi. Reports said that Elon Musk had pressured the UAE side, warning that if his startup xAI failed to join the project, the deal might not be approved by the U.S. government.
Despite Musk's dissatisfaction and pressure, it is said that the Trump administration eventually approved the cooperation agreement named "Stargate U.A.E.". The White House responded that Musk had expressed to the government his concern about fair competition among all AI companies.
