Microsoft Notepad Now Allows Users to Write with Generative AI

Microsoft is currently testing a new feature in Notepad that can use AI to generate text for you. This is part of the Windows 11 update, released to Windows Insiders in the Canary and Dev channels along with Copilot+ PC. The update also includes new AI-powered features for the Paint app, such as a sticker generator, and improvements to the Snipping Tool that can automatically crop and resize screenshots according to your selection. According to the Windows Insider Program blog, the new writing feature in Notepad can be used to "quickly draft text based on your prompts" or "create based on existing content with the help of AI". You can right-click where you want to insert new text in the document, or right-click after selecting existing text to be used as a reference.
