Google Search Starts Offering AI Mode to US Users

At the I/O 2025 conference, Google announced that it has started pushing the AI Mode to users of its search service in the US. This mode returns answers to users' queries in a conversational way, similar to how an AI chatbot works. The AI Mode was previously made available for users to try out through Labs. At I/O 2025, Google announced a series of new features, including new shopping tools, price comparison, creation of custom charts and graphs for financial and sports queries, etc. The large model used by the AI Mode is a customized version of Gemini 2.5. Google plans to introduce the Deep Search, a branch of the Deep Research mode, to the AI Mode in the future.
