🔮 Apple executives believe their internal AI chatbot is on a par with OpenAI's ChatGPT

Mark Gurman's latest report reveals that Apple has been internally testing an AI chatbot product developed independently.

Insiders disclosed that under the leadership of John Giannandrea, the new head of AI, Apple's self-developed AI project has achieved significant technological breakthroughs in the past six months. Moreover, Apple executives think the current version of this chatbot is comparable to the latest version of ChatGPT.

Gurman's report also confirms that Apple has no intention of announcing a major update to Siri at the WWDC 2025 developers conference for now. "Siri 2.0" powered by a large language model is expected to debut at the earliest in the later stage of the iOS 19 cycle.
