ChatGPT Will Use Its 'Memory' to Personalize Web Searches
OpenAI is upgrading ChatGPT's "memory" function once again. According to the update logs and support pages on OpenAI's official website on Thursday, the company quietly launched a new feature called "Memory and Search". When conducting web searches, ChatGPT will be able to optimize search results by incorporating personal information stored in its memory. OpenAI explained in the document that after enabling the "Memory and Search" feature, when a user enters a question that requires an online search, ChatGPT will rewrite the original prompt into a search query and may refer to relevant content in its memory, making the search results more accurate and practical. Users can disable the "Memory and Search" feature by turning off the "Memory" option in the ChatGPT settings menu.
