The US House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party has asked NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang to explain whether its AI chips have flowed into DeepSeek through indirect channels. DeepSeek previously said it used NVIDIA's H800 GPU, designed specifically for the Chinese market, to develop AI models, but the chip was subsequently placed under export control.

The committee pointed out that Singapore recently seized an illegal chip transshipment case involving Chinese nationals, which may expose regulatory loopholes. NVIDIA's financial report acknowledges that most of its Singaporean revenue comes from non-local customers, but it denies supplying chips to China in violation of regulations.

US lawmakers have demanded that NVIDIA submit large-scale chip sales records for Southeast Asia and China from 2019 to 2025 before April 30 and disclose documents related to its dealings with DeepSeek.
