Starting from today, college students in the United States can subscribe to Google's Google One AI Premium membership for free until June 30, 2026, without having to pay the original $20 monthly fee. A Google spokesperson said that applicants need to register before June 30, 2025, and complete verification through a valid .edu email address. Students will receive an email reminder before the subscription expires, so they will have enough time to cancel the subscription. The membership includes 2TB of cloud storage space and tools powered by Gemini 2.5 Pro, such as Gemini Advanced and Gemini In-Depth Research features. Subscribers can also use NotebookLM Plus and integrate the Gemini assistant directly into documents, spreadsheets, and slides. In addition, there are the new Veo 2 text-to-video model and the Whisk tool for "mixing text and image prompts to create new content."
