Google's Veo 2 Video Generation Model Lands on Gemini Platform

Google has announced that it will bring its Veo 2 video - generating AI model to Gemini Advanced subscribers. This move aims to compete with OpenAI's Sora video - generation platform and gain a foothold in the increasingly competitive market. Starting Tuesday, Gemini Advanced users can select Veo 2 from the model dropdown menu in the Google Gemini app. Users can create 8 - second video clips with a 720p resolution and a 16:9 aspect ratio through this model, and upload these videos to platforms such as TikTok and YouTube via Gemini's "Share" button. Videos generated by Veo 2 can also be downloaded as MP4 files with Google's SynthID technology watermark. Google said that there is a limit on the number of videos users can create per month, and this feature is not currently supported by Google Workspace's commercial and educational plans.
