Anthropic is preparing to launch a voice assistant feature this month
Artificial intelligence company Anthropic is about to introduce a new voice assistant product for its Claude chatbot, nearly a year after rival OpenAI began offering a similar option to ChatGPT users. People familiar with the matter said that the new feature, called "Voice Mode", could be launched as soon as this month and will be initially rolled out on a limited scale. According to the person and a review of the app's publicly available iOS code, the current plan includes the launch of three voices named Airy, Mellow, and Buttery with a British accent. However, the release plan is still subject to change. On Tuesday, Anthropic announced the launch of a new AI feature called Research, which can search the web and enterprise customer data to provide detailed and comprehensive answers with citations. It also added the ability for Claude users to search Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Docs to simplify their work.
