Meta to Start Training AI Models with EU Public Content
Meta announced on Monday that it will resume its plan to train its AI models using public content such as posts and comments on Facebook and Instagram in the European Union. The company had suspended this plan due to regulatory pressure sparked by data privacy concerns. The company said it will start using user content to train artificial intelligence in the EU this week. User interactions with Meta AI will also be used for model training. Starting this week, EU users will begin to receive in-app notifications and emails stating that Meta will start using public data and interactions with Meta AI to train models. These notifications will include a link to a form that allows users to opt out of the use of their data. Meta said it will respect all received objection forms and newly submitted forms.
