OpenAI Releases GPT-4.1, Enhancing Coding Abilities: API Calls Only
OpenAI has launched a new GPT-4.1 model series, including the standard version, mini version, and nano version. These models specialize in code generation and instruction following, have the ability to process million-level token contexts, and are currently available as a service through the API.
The new models have been optimized based on developer feedback and perform better in areas such as front-end coding, format following, and tool usage, aiming to improve the effectiveness of actual software engineering tasks. They outperform GPT-4o and the mini version in coding benchmark tests.
The GPT-4.1 series offers different cost and speed options, with the nano version being the fastest and the most affordable. Despite its excellent performance, the model's accuracy may decline when processing extremely long inputs, and it is more "literal" than GPT-4o.
Sam Altman provided information on the X platform: The GPT-4.1 series models are currently only available via API.
