OpenAI recently upgraded ChatGPT's memory function, enabling it to not only remember user preferences but also recall all historical conversations. CEO Sam Altman expressed excitement about this, believing it to be an important step in the personalized development of the AI system.

* Enhanced Functionality: ChatGPT now remembers information through two methods, "Saved Memories" and "Chat History". The former is specified by the user, while the latter is automatically extracted from historical conversations.
* Privacy Control: Users can completely or partially turn off the memory function, including "Saved Memories" and "Chat History", through switches in the settings.
* Temporary Conversations: For special conversations that users do not want to be remembered, they can use the "Temporary Chat" option.
* Availability: This feature has been opened to ChatGPT Pro users (USD 200 per month), and will soon be available to Plus users (USD 20 per month). It is currently not available in the UK, EU, etc. Free users need to wait.
* Competitors: Google Gemini, Meta AI, and Microsoft Copilot also have similar memory functions.
