Sam Altman, the CEO of OpenAI, said he does not rule out helping the Pentagon develop new weapons platforms. Speaking at the Vanderbilt Modern Conflict and Emerging Threats Summit, Altman said, "I would never say 'never' because the world can get really strange." But he added that he does not expect to work with the Pentagon to develop such platforms in the "foreseeable future" unless it is a trade - off among very bad options.
