On Thursday, the Information Office of Guangdong Province and the Provincial Department of Education held a press conference to officially release the "Two Literacy and One Outline" program for promoting the implementation of artificial intelligence education in primary and secondary schools in Guangdong, clarifying the requirements for artificial intelligence education in primary and secondary schools. In principle, Grades 1 - 4 in primary schools should have no less than 6 class hours per academic year, Grades 5 - 6 in primary schools should have no less than 10 class hours per academic year, Grades 7 - 8 in junior high schools should have no less than 1 class hour every two weeks. At the senior high school stage, based on the implementation of national courses such as information technology and general technology, there should be no less than 1 class hour every two weeks in the first or second year of senior high school. Lin Rupeng, Secretary of the Education Working Committee of the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee, said that Guangdong has set up artificial intelligence experimental projects in 20 regions to explore effective ways for artificial intelligence to empower basic education in teaching assistance, learning assistance, assessment assistance, management assistance, and research assistance.
