Google's AI Mode Now Allows Asking Complex Questions About Images

Google is introducing multimodal search to its AI Mode, enabling users to pose complex, multi-part questions and follow-ups to explore a topic in greater depth. Users with access to AI Mode can now click on the feature to ask questions about photos they've uploaded or taken with their camera. Google said in a blog post on Monday that the new image analysis feature in AI Mode is powered by Google Lens' multimodal capabilities. According to Google, AI Mode can understand the entire scene in an image, including the relationships between objects, as well as the materials, colors, shapes, and arrangements of the objects. Through a technique called "query fan-out," AI Mode poses multiple questions about the image and the objects shown in it, providing more detailed information than traditional Google search.
