Claude Launches a Dedicated Learning Mode for Education to Guide Students to Think Independently
Amid the wave where 86% of college students worldwide use AI for assisted learning, Anthropic has launched an education plan and added a learning mode. In this mode, the chatbot Claude will not directly provide answers but guide students to think through Socratic questioning, such as asking "What is the basis for your conclusion?".
This feature is based on the 3.7 Sonnet hybrid reasoning model and integrated with the project management function. The education version is available to Pro users, and those with a .edu email can register. Anthropic has also partnered with three universities including Northeastern University to fully open its use.
The company has simultaneously launched a campus ambassador program and API credit rewards, and is collaborating with Canvas to promote the integration of AI teaching tools.
