OpenAI's newly launched GPT-4o tool allows paying users to generate images in the Ghibli style, while the free version of ChatGPT using DALL-E 3 rejects the same requests on the grounds of "copyright protection." This contradictory phenomenon has drawn attention, especially considering that Hayao Miyazaki, the co-founder of Studio Ghibli, is still alive.

An OpenAI spokesperson explained that the company's policy allows the generation of "a broader range of studio styles" but prohibits "generating images in the style of individual living artists." However, for the same requests, the paid and free versions of ChatGPT give completely different responses.
