Microsoft Copilot Adds Two New Agents: Researcher and Analyst

Today, Microsoft announced the launch of two new AI Copilot agents for Microsoft 365 customers: Researcher and Analyst. The new Researcher agent will help customers use their work data to conduct multi-step research with higher quality and accuracy than before. Researcher is an inference agent that uses the OpenAI o3 Deep Research model as well as Copilot intelligent orchestration and search algorithms. This agent can ask clarifying questions and even allows users to view its chain-of-thought reasoning in real time. The new Analyst agent will help customers quickly transform raw data into insights. This inference agent uses the OpenAI o3-mini model. Customers will be able to upload Excel files containing data and ask the agent to visualize the data, supporting dynamic analysis of Python code.
